Some technical updates…

Edit 10pm: Wow. I pushed through and got it colored and shaded on the insistence of my best friend. He wanted it done TONIGHT. Deadlines, man. I missed some areas of shading. Also the line work on the first panel for DBJ is garbo. But I’m excited to draw another iteration. Just give me a couple weeks to learn some more things and catch up.

Working on coloring the first comic. I’m almost done. But, I’m new to digital art, and did it in a pretty terrible fashion. I don’t want to re-ink and re-layer the whole damn thing, so I’m just going to suffer through coloring every little detail. Lesson learned. As a result, it’s delayed the other comics. Trying to get a good buffer in, even if the update schedule is planned to be 1x per week. I would prefer to get at least 10 comics done before I post the second one.

With that being said, these first comics are going to be a lot of experimentation with the surroundings. I’m still learning pro-tips on coloring, strokes, background detailing, shading, lettering, etc.

Learning digital art and all of the quirks of this drawing tablet has been fun. Drawing is the easy part. Drivers, shortcuts, settings, brushes, layers, alphas, the list goes on and on and on. It’s a lot to learn, but I’m managing. However, I was sketching the other day on paper and attempted to hit CTRL+Z IRL.

RSS is not working at the moment. I’m trying to fix it, but it’s kind of beyond the scope of what I know code-wise and seems like it may be a server issue. So, until then, you’ll just have to bookmark the page the old fashioned way and wait for an update.

Pre-sober Josh (aka Evil Josh) deleted all of his social profiles, so the instagram just goes to my sanitized personal account. I don’t really know what to do with it.

Some things going forward:

• I’ll get the first comic up and work on the rest.
• Get the RSS fixed.
• Finish getting the Discord set up.
• Maybe an email list of some kind? (I have NO interest in spamming people, or even sending emails for that matter)
• A way to contact me that’s not through some social media death portal.
• The header is probably going to be tweaked more.
• Figure out an actual update schedule.
• Try not to walk into traffic when I go back to work on Tuesday.

I have a nice hike with my best friend planned for today so hopefully I can get some more coloring done tonight!
